XRF Services provide standards calibration and certification through CalMetrics,
Inc. CalMetrics
acquired exclusive licensed technology
for standard developement and manufacture from ThermoElectron, previously a division
of Veeco Instruments and originally founded as UPA Technology. Having provided
calibration standards to the film thickness measurement industry for over 50 years.
Now an independant company whose employees (qualified chemists) and owners have
in excess of 20 years average experience in the EDXRF industry. With an
extensive primary standard library CalMetrics is capable of providing
the best standards calibration service in the industry. Along with XRF standards
they can also provide calibrations on thickness standards for beta back scatter,
gauging sheets for magnetic lift off, eddy current standards and hall effect standards. Standards
are calibrated traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology
(N.I.S.T.) and optionally in compliance with ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994. Why
Calibrate standards periodically? - The
accuracy of your system is directly related to the accuracy and quality of the
standards used during the calibration of your XRF instrument.
- In
normal use, even with care, plating thickness standards can be inadvertently scratched
or damaged by the operator.
- Environmental
conditions and age can also affect the surface of the standard causing oxidation
and inter metallic formations which will adversely affect your thickness measurements.
- For
QC programs based on ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 or ISO-10012-1:1992E, recertification
at intervals recommended by the manufacturer is required.
Occasionally
our customers will have discrepancies in measurement results when the same part
is measured by different customers or vendors on different instruments. Our experts
can help resolve measurement discrepancies using our material characterization
service. This service is available to anyone and discounts are given to our customers
that have their standards or systems calibrated regularly. We can also provide
measurement results on larger quantities of parts, call for pricing. |
